Recrutes

First off, GREAT IDEA! You guys should recrute us collage kids who road trip it given any chance we get.. Hell, you could get some sponsers, send the tripers a cool little flag w/ yours/sponsers ect..logos & www, printed on them, And a few gas vouchers or fast food vouchers that the sponser kicks down and Kaaaaa Booooom!! Your site blows up because off all the BUZZ and the rapidly growing data base (which could also serve as a sort of "cool roads to trip" site -For all thoughs looking for a cool new place to go-. And the exposure all those flags would get ya... Sure, there are some kinks to work out but hell, If some lame family in utah can pimp themselfs/car in the same fashion on ebay for a few $$ Bucks $$, while driving across state to see dear old granny, then surly a few drops of gas and some munchies would do the same...

But HAY!! Don't forget about the little people when this helps you go big time....

(the little people being ME:)

See ya on the road... Trippers!!

Excellent Idea

I don't know if I've been able to view all of the functionality from my machine. I could see where you were going with this and would love to make one with my town.....

Great site!

I thought only my brother-in-law, Mark, and I did this sort of thing! We both photographed our drive to work in Columbus, Ohio. Not being able to actually MOUNT my camera, and the fact that I drive a manual shift, obviously I could not get the frequency of shots I would have liked. We did it for geneology purposes-----so that any interested parties in the future could see JUST how crazy their ancestors were.

Your advice on geotagging.

Hi Doug,

Great idea. I'm just getting into geotagging photos, and was wondering what your hardware setup is. Or what would you recommend.

Right now, I'm in the process of figuring out how to save tracks with timestamps, then synchronize the camera time with the GPS. Do you have a more elegant way?

Many thanks,
Mike
